Our territory
Sauvetage Animal Rescue operates across the entire Montréal metropolitan community: 82 municipalities spread over five administrative regions, Montréal, Laval, the Montérégie, the Laurentides and Lanaudière.
4,360 square kilometres
The area is home to more than 4.2 million residents, close to half of Québec's population, and over 1.7 million households. Thousands of parks, urban forests, rivers, highways, farmland and densely built neighbourhoods sit side by side. Every year this territory generates hundreds of calls requiring a fast, specialized response.
Between city and wilderness
That diversity demands adaptability. Rescuing a cat stuck high in a Montréal borough, helping ducklings that fell into a suburban storm drain, or attending an injured deer in an outlying municipality call for neither the same equipment nor the same approach. The mission adapts to the terrain and to the local reality of each intervention.
